Hi, I’m Scott

Too much of your week goes on admin that software could do. I’m Scott Warren, a software engineer with over 20 years’ experience. I build bespoke systems and automations that connect the tools you already use, so your team stops re-typing data and you get your time back.

My background

I’ve spent over 20 years building software for businesses. Most recently I’ve worked as a lead software engineer and systems architect, with experience across healthcare, insurance and recruitment software. I have a BSc in Computer Science.

Throughout that time, the work I’ve enjoyed most is the same: understanding how a business really runs, then building software that makes it run better.

How I like to work

  • Straight talking

Plain English, honest advice, nothing hidden and no hard sell.

  • Built around how you work

I turn your requirements into software that fits your business, not the other way round.

  • Start small, focus on results

We fix your biggest time-drain first, then build from there.

  • You work directly with me, for the long term

The person you talk to is the person who builds it and supports it.

  • No surprises

Clear costs up front, with security built in from the start.

Why “Chaos Theory”?

I’ve always loved chaos theory: the idea that a tiny change, like a butterfly flapping its wings, can lead to something much bigger. It’s how I think about business software, too. A small change can make a big difference.

For the technically minded

I’ve worked with C#, .NET, React, Blazor, Node.js, PHP and Ruby, along with databases and cloud hosting. Today, what I build is hosted on Microsoft Azure in UK data centres. You don’t need to know any of this. I’ll always explain things in plain English.

Where I work

I’m based in Nottingham and work remotely with businesses across the UK, using Teams or other video calls. I can meet in person when it’s really needed.

Find the small change that makes the biggest difference

Book a free call and tell me what’s slowing your business down. You’ll get straight, honest advice, even if that’s “you don’t need bespoke software”.
